Verse 1
It's 5:17 on a Thursday,
Dr. Olfert is running late once again.
He's yelling about the brass secton's dynamics,
while he talks of his old days at Florida State.
Verse 2
Now, Subby's ears are always ringing,
because of Dan, since he plays so damned loud.
Dr. Olfert said, "Don't play like Maynard Fergueson,
You're breaking walls and glass with that sound...
Interlude
Oh, da da, diddy da. Da da, diddy da...
Chorus
Sing us the song of the Gold Star Band.
Sing us this song, tonight.
Dan and Chris had to write us a tour song.
And this one, it took us all night.
Verse 3
The flutes had some problems with their tuning.
It was sometimes so painful to our ears.
But Dano and Chris, we take comfort in
the fact that Janny Rybolt isn't here...
Verse 4
Derek Riekens is making has strange noises again.
Chris and Chaus want to punch him in the face.
And all of the single guys in this Gold Star Band
want to take Nina Shook out on a date.

Verse 5
Chandra, on the horn, she's a friend of ours.
Her loud sound, it can part Chris's hair.
She came to us from the US Navy Band.
She probably swabbed a lot of "decks" when she was there...
(Spoken)
You know- it's not a "deck", it's a floor.
And you know- it's a stair case, not a "stairwell".
It's not a "head", it's a bathroom.
Yeah, and it's not a "muster", it's a formation...
Verse 6
Jenn Braus yells, "All these instruments are killing me,"
As a smile ran away from her face.
She said, "I just want to play my damned saxophones
if we could recruit more clarinets for this place..."
Repeat Interlude
Repeat Chorus
Verse 7
There's Sara Dau, the president of the Gold Star Band.
We know she has a nice set of...heels.
Now when she misses the high notes on the clarinet,
She now see's how the lead trumpet player feels
Verse 8
There's the old vets- Sara, Brad, Charlie, Kari, and Greg.
They're playing their last tours with the band.
And we know that they'll be miss so very much.
Especially by Chris and Dan. (Crying)
Verse 9
We're nearing the end of yet another tour.
But these tours will go on and on.
We know this song isn't as good as all of Jesse's.
So we guess we better end this song.

Repeat Chorus
Ommited Verses:
Verse 10
Now Chaus and Chris are bored sitting in the back row.
As usual, they're goofing off once again.
They're throwing stuff at the horns- paper and birdhouses.
And gawking at the cute horn players- especailly Krisanne.
There are more, but I have to find them, they're on the original manuscript somewhere in my house. More to come...
