Paul Severson
1929-2007
Paul Severson passed away on Sunday, May 20th after a long battle with cancer. He has been a pillar of the music world in the Fargo-Moorhead area for years and years having written more than 3,000 charts, commercial jingles, and compositions over the years. He performed professionally as a trombonist with the Stan Kenton Big Band and worked as a staff arranger and composer at CBS Radio in addition to his many big band, Dixieland, and jazz composition efforts. Mr. Severson also served on the staff of the Minnesota State University music faculty from 1984-1991.
Life celebration services will be at 3pm on June 5th at Faith United Church of Christ in International Falls, MN, and at 3pm on June 8th at Fargo’s First United Methodist Church.
